Good morning. Why everyday my belief becomes firmer and firmer that Pakistan can never progress? I called my bank helpline last evening that what was the status of my July 19 application for visa debt gold plus card and they told me there was nothing in their record and I should check with my branch.
Called this morning and they said that they need a copy of my CNIC. How stupid, they have so many copies in their file and one attached with my signatures card and they did not call me to drop one at the bank. They should have asked at the first place when I submitted my application.
Second thing is that for the past one month I am trying to gather a pile of papers to submit to Federal Board for the correction of date of birth in my daughter's matric (Class 10) result card.
It is their mistake, but I have to pay 1,500 rupees and dig out the records from schools she last attended and beg the principlas for the copy of the admission register. Her Montessori school said the register was a confidential thing as it contained personal details of so many other students. I have given the board Form B provided by NADRA which should be sufficient proof of date of birth, but the board says no go back to the first place and get the copy of admission register attested by principal of the school she attended from 2000-2006.
These are just two everyday life examples. But we, the citizens of Paksitan, are put to such atrocities by the insitutions we deal with daily. Be it your own office, the municipalties, courts, banks, post offices, hospitals, markets, everywhere you go you are put to uncalled for challenges and frivilious outdated procedures despite the computer age.
