Zardari gets shoes thrown at him in Britain

An elderly man on Saturday hurled his shoes at Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari at a public meeting in British city of Birmingham, local television channels reported in their breaking news.

There have been anger in Pakistan over Zardari's visit to France and Britain in the wake of massive floods that have killed about 1,600 people and affected 12 million others mostly in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab and Sindh provinces in the worst flooding in the living history.

Opposition parties have also demanded Zardari to cancel his visit to Britain after its Prime Minister David Cameron accused Pakistan of exporting terrorism.

Television footage showed angry protesters in Birmingham holding placards and shouting slogans against Zardari.
