Previous visit

On March 20, 2008, I visited the site of Rawalpindi Press Club Housing Scheme. It is situated 20 kilometres from Zero Point at Loi Bher. Development work is being carried out briskly and I saw sewerage lines and manholes already built near the main road. Here are few photos.

The Rawalpindi Press Club housing scheme is being developed under the auspices of The Punjab Journalist Housing Foundation.

The scheme will provide shelter to more than 1,000 journalists of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

thumbs up for the journalists, atleast they look out for each other...housing has become insanely expensive in Pakistan and id say if one manages to build his/her house in Pakistan it is a big accomplishment and deserves praise.

Media Town allotees get possession of plots

RAWALPINDI Feb 1 (APP): The proces of giving possession of plots to the allotees of Media town started with the handing over of possession letters to the allotees of Sector "B" here on Monday.

Chairman Rawalpindi Press Club Housing Committee Mushtaq Minhas told APP that from Tuesday stamp papers would be proviied at the site office of Media town. This decision has been taken in view of the difficulities being faced by the allotees.

The allotees have been advised to bring Rs.8300/- pay order in favour of " PJHF-RPCHS- Media Town, Rawalpindi".

As many as 25 allotees would get pososession of their plots daily, he added. The allotees should bring two copies of their NIC, original NIC,two passport size photographs, orginal NOC and allotment letter and
their photocpies, he added.

The possession letters would be given from 11.a m to 4 .p.m.daily.There was poor response on the first day due to lack of information about the process. The possesssion would be given to the allotees of secotr B, then C , D and in the end to the allotees of sector A.

Meanwhile a number of twin -city journalists have demanded that posession should be given on first come, first serve basis.Besides the building plan should also be provided at the site office so that construction of houses could be undertaken at the earliest, they demanded.
very good attempt congratulations in this regards improve and update this.

Masroor, could you please share the leeter number of CDA or RDA in which the rear bath approval is mentioned.
I have checked all websites and only could find this info for only bahria town. while rest of societies even CDA is silent (website)
It would be really a great thing if you may share on your website either scanned info or just the text and refernce number. So other people may get benefited.

Thanks
Asim

Dear Asim. I have not seen this thing in print as far as Media Town is concerned. All I could find out before construction was verbally from Media Town office and the only architect on the panel that a bath in the backyard could be built, best regards
